I am sure tomorrow I will want to celebrate tomorrow’s tomorrow - 2025, so today feels the right night to reflect on 2024. Are you ready?
I did a simple exercise.
Bring a pen and paper before you go ahead and do the below exercise:
Write however many memories that came to your mind for each month of 2024.
Answer:
What are you grateful for? and,
What is bothering you?
My experience:
For some of the months - it was very easy. There were highlights, changes, new learnings, occasions, moments, not-so-good moments, changing emotions. For some I was merely blank at first - I accounted those months for living the mundane peacefully. It was a great recap of the year.
Seeing the recap, I had so much to be grateful for! Small things, big things, everything!
You know I was recently thinking how I didn’t travel enough in 2024 and should travel more in 2025. Doing this exercise made me realise that apart from juggling between three homes, I had gone to 5 cities and 1 different continent! When will I stop cribbing?
It was interesting to see how little worries that dominated a few months seemed irrelevant by the end of the year.
When I listed what was bothering me - most things seemed irrelevant too but having that list, reinforced the new year resolutions I had decided for 2025. This year I have a few little ones - and the good part is I feel positive about achieving them. How are you with your resolutions? I think I enjoy New Year resolutions - I keep reasonable resolutions and even if I am able to follow them for more than half a year, I count it as a win only!
My 2024 resolution was to get married and enjoy it! I think I aced that one. Haha! Totally enjoyed the wedding and enjoying the marriage even more - obviously with some cribbing here and there!
My 2023 resolution was consistency - and it was definitely a rewarding journey.
Not telling my 2025 resolution(s) because it’s too early to say. But hope this activity helps you decide one (or more!).
Wish you a very happy new year, as it comes.
Bye and Good night!
